It is not a women's fault for being raped. The way women dress or choose to express themselves has nothing to do with this matter. A woman has the right to dress how she wishes and feels comfortable. She can either dress conservatively, revealingly and even sexy. A woman's attractiveness is not a reason to violate her. The men are at fault for this crime because they let their hormones and dirty mind take control of them.
             It was interesting to read how racism impacts a rape crime. Some women that went on and reported the sexual assault were asked if the rapist was a black male. It was mentioned that if the rapist was black then it was thought to really be rape. If the crime was indeed committed by a black male it was in many cases taken very seriously, in which the attacker was often executed or lynched. I don't necessarily approve if this punishment but I also do not feel sorry for the perpetrator because I keep in mind that he was a criminal. Race should have nothing to do with a crime or the outcome of the case. Rape is rape and it is a crime no matter the race or color of the people involved, and therefore it should be carried out in court as a crime.
             The types of rape that were discussed in the paper were: acquaintance rape and date rape. To me rape is rape whether the victim knows the rapist or not. The attacker is a rapist and it could be anyone. It does not matter if that individual was a former boyfriend, a boss, co-worker or even an acquaintance; I say this because not only strangers commit this horrific crime. In most cases the victim knew the rapist.
             Many victims of rape crimes choose not to report the abuse. I understand why some women keep the crime hidden. They chose not to report the crime because they feel guilty, dirty
             and even embarrassed. They themselves are not sure if it was rape, maybe because of the situation or the circumstances of how the act happen
