Antigone

It's questionable whether or not Antigone made the right decision by disobeying Creon tobury her brother. I think in part that she made the right decision primarily because those in commandaren't always right, lives were at stake, and finally the laws made by the Gods are more important than My first reason supporting Antigone's decision is those in command aren't always right. A King is a ruler of a society of people that has juristrictions to it's geography. Sure a king might be viewed moreworthy than a commoner, but one important idea to keep in mind is that all people are created equal. Thelaws made by a king are most often those which are best for the people under command. But to make alaw not to bury a certain individual, especially one's own brother. Antigone felt she had to bury herbrother as she said, "Creon buried our brother Eteocles with military honors, gave him a funeral,

My third reason is that the laws made by the Gods are more important than those made by a king. On the other hand maybe Antigone shouldn't have disobeyed Creon and went to bury her brotherPolyneices. Nevertheless if one has gone without a burial they would be left to wanderthe earth . The laws created by a king are important to follow in a society otherwise that society would fall into thearms of anarchy. Because she endangered her life in doing so. Seeing as how the king of the society ismaking laws against the holy burial rite. Many people who were to follow in death would be left withouta burial. If she didn't Polyneiceswould be left to wander the earth for all eternity. But if Antigone didn't break Creon's law and bury her brother, the ritual of buryingthose who has died would have been thought of as redundant. Secondly, lives were at stake for Antigone. So she disobeyed Creon's law and buried her brother anyway. Maybe her death came out of her action, but still her strong belief in the laws of the Gods wasright. " Antigone was forbidden to buryPolyneices, but what could she do, one of the holiest law required the performance of certain burial rites. If not her brothers life then hers, the burial ritesguaranteed to each individual were very important. I think if a king, a king with flesh and a heart and all thecharacteristics of a simple human being, were to cross into a law made by a God, that all persons shouldnot hesitate to break a King's law into following the law created by a God.
