What It Takes To Be A Wrestler
Wrestling is a very competitive and well-known sport in high schools all across the United States. It separates the men from the boys and requires much hard work that will pay off in the end. In order to be a good wrestler, you first must be dedicated to the sport. You also need non-stop practice. Lastly, you need to have the will to win. For myself I have all of these qualities and I love to talk about each and every one of them.
Dedication is a key factor in wrestling. It is a very demanding sport where standards are set and must be accomplished. To be dedicated, is to give up things that mean very much to you. One of the most common things that are given up by most wrestlers is food. Cutting weight is a dedication to the team, which means not having five meals a day anymore. Working hard all the time and giving 110% every time you wrestle is dedication. Keeping your grades up all season and helping the team on their way to victory is in the thought process of every wrestler. Any wrestler no matter what needs dedication, and without it, you will not accomplish what you want.
The saying, "Practice makes perfect", is so true when it comes to the sport of wrestling. Non-stop practice is just what is needed to be a good wrestler. In the practice room, you are only as good as you want to be. If you choose to slack off and not try your best, the result will be the complete opposite of someone who practices as hard as they can all the time. By drilling moves and conditioning every day, reaching your goals will come natural. Practice is a necessity in the sport of wrestling, and by practicing all the time, you will be on your way to victory.
