d secretarial services. Local firm is the representative of Ernst & Young International (EYI), which pay royalty to the EYI annually, as well as assignment wise. The Company has been reputed of performing quality work and taking innovative measures in the fields of accountancy, management and related areas. Large and reputed blue chip companies in top Sri Lankan ranking have been dealing with the firm from its inception.
             At present the company is managed by 10 partners out of whom 4 partners are profit sharing partners and others are on a fixed salary. All partners are actively involved in the activities of the firm in different levels and handles different units and services apart from main core business, i.e. auditing.
             The organisation has a Professional Bureaucratic structure according to Henry Mintzberg's Structure analysis.
             All partners supervise audits as their core activity whilst handling other management services provided by the firm. All partners are jointly and severally liable for the activities and liabilities that may arise as a result of such activity.
             In all of the sections mentioned above there are permanent staff members as well as a trainee staff who will be ultimately supervised by a partner. There is approximately 50 member permanent staff cadre including directors, managers, asst. managers, computer operators and administrative staff, and 300 trainee staff in all sections. The scope of this research is limited to the findings related to trainees of the firm.
             Eventhough there are approximately 300 trainees, only the trainees at the Management Consultancy Services (MCS) Division were analysed.
             All trainees & asst. manager directly report to the director who is the departmental head.
