Second Hand Smoke
Smoking or non-smoking section? These questions use to be common among public places, but is now rarely spoken. Many people have different views about smoking in public places. Smokers feel it is their right to smoke where and when they want. On the other hand non-smokers feel smokers violate their rights and endanger non-smokers lives. Smoking causes heart disease, lung cancer and other serious illnesses. Cigarette smoking is the number one cause of lung cancer. A substantial number of lung cancers that occur in non-smokers are attributed to involuntary smoking. While some people feel that smoking in public places should remain since it is a smokers right, smoking in public places should be banned because second-hand smoke will endanger
One problem is that cigarette smoke irritates many people. Certain public places, such as bars or clubs, must carefully consider the loss of business if they do not allow smokers the right to smoke. The heating and air conditions do not filter out carcinogens well enough, and the smoke drifts onto non-designated areas into the lungs of non-smokers. A ban on public smoking would create a healthier country. Smoking in public places is a danger to non-smokers health for the reason of second-hand smoke. Although some claim that smoking in a public place is their right, smoking in public places should not be legalized because it will endanger non-smokers from passive smoke and it pollutes America's environment. The main problem of smoking in a public place is indoor air pollution. The problem effecting a person who is in a comtaminated environment may result in coughing, headaches, whezzing, fever, and fatigue. ------------------------------------------------------------------------**Bibliography**. The work environment is another problem for smokers, because they have to go outside to have a cigarette, even though smokers used to be able to smoke inside. Smokers feel they have had the right to smoke in public places for so long that it should not be taken away. Air pollution can lead to various forms of respiratory disease. Fifty-three thousand non-smokers a year die innocently due to the hazards of second-hand smoke. When a person is asked they the question, "Smoking or non-smoking section?" the person should consider a new restaurant, rather than expose themselve to the dangers of second-hand smoke. Smoking is the most deadly habit, affecting the greatest number of peole in the world today.
