Theme Of 1984

In the movie 1984, Orwell predicted oppression, mind control, and inequality in the future world. I believe that he wrote this book to warn future generations of the downfalls of totalitarianism and communistic governments. I found many themes through out the film. One theme I found in the movie is that dictatorships are very controlling and they can do as they please just to control the people within their country. The movie said that the Inner Party, which is like a dictatorship,

Through out the movie there were executions of their own people. This theme developed through out the book because it seemed like the government was getting more and more controlling and kept on eliminating the rights of its citizens. 1984 showed us this through out the movie. The Inner Party used many tactics to keep the people under their control. Orwell shows us that people who can not remember history are doomed to repeat it. Orwell showed his hatred of this form of government in two of his works, Animal Farm and the movie 1984. They used fear, and they brainwashed the younger generation to believe what they wanted. Another theme I noticed was the need for understanding the past and how it relates to our lives. If we don't take pride in our past, and what our ancestors have done for us, we may have leaders who might dramatically change our lives. The major theme of this book is that totalitarianism is a very evil form of government and should be banned in some way or another. Orwell wrote this book for us to take a serious look at communism and totalitarianism so our world doesn't end up like the one in 1984. They did this with out any thought to human life. Winston worked in the Ministry of Truth and changed newspapers to better represent Big Brother and if people said they remembered something, it was considered "Thought Crime" and was punishable by death. did whatever it took to take control of the people. ------------------------------------------------------------------------**Bibliography**.
