How many times have you heard about violence with guns? And on top of that, how many times would you say you've heard about guns being the problem all of this violence?Some think that if more restrictive gun laws are made, then the violence will decrease. Others think that people are the problem, not guns. There are many points to both sides. So, who's right?I believe that America giving up our constitutionalrights to bear arms and banning these weapons, will not onlynot stop violence, but possibly increase it. Guns are used everyday in violent crimes. Whether it be robbing a liquor store, or to just killing someone. Social violence expert Jeffrey Fagen says, "Gun violence among youth follows a pattern similar to that of infectious diseases. And like disease epidemics, it is contagious." (http://www.usatoday.com/life/health/doctor/lhdoc107.htm). He further backed up his statement with some surprising statistics. Jeffrey found that 815 people were murdered with guns in 1985. That number eventually grew in 1991 with 1,644 gun homicides. The increase of gun homicides in one neighborhood increased the likelihood of gun homicides in surrounding neighborhoods.
