Language in early child develpoment

the ideal form of communication in schools In the May 1998 addition of Young Children, there was an interesting article that discussed howlanguage is an essential part of a child's communication. Children who have good communication skills ,whether it be listening or speaking, tend to develop essential learning and literacy skills. The type ofcommunication predominantly discussed is language. Language, is the key to a child's learning in school. Language can be written or presented orally, both adequate forms of communication. Children are encouraged to communicate through language, notonly for expansion of vocabulary, and learning letter sounds, but also for interaction among their peers. Notonly will the usage of language overall help students learn this common language, but also it will help detectat an early age, language problems on academic success and social interaction. A problem in many classrooms today is the diversity with in it. There is no one particular way ateacher should deal with such differences,

The purpose of this is to try and refocusthe discussion. As it comes time for children to enter school, they must adapt to the languageused in the classroom. This isn't necessarily a problem in languagecomprehension. A key way to provide a class with diverse language needs, is to offer a wide rangeof different language activities. The more you learn in a certain area, the more you tend to master it. An important role of the teacher is to never stop learning from others, andexperiences. Once the teacher is aware of different behaviors and characteristics thatsignal language difficulties, that child should receive help from within the regular classroom to promote thedevelopment of language. Because of diversity among theclassroom, the article gave great suggestions how to cope with such variations. Others tend to point, and use more expressivelanguage to get others to understand what they mean. Some kids areeasy to understand, and communicate well with one another. During this time, children are able to interact with one anotherwithin the classroom. Communicating with others, whetherverbally or through written language, is a way to express yourself. Many children learn to talk at home. Not only is it rewarding to helpthe children learn new ways of communicating, and new concepts in general, but the children also teach theteachers constantly. Such rules include communication rules, that regulate when and whenconversations take place.
