Vietnam
Throughout the Vietnam era hardships and tragedy plagued the area of Vietnam. This immoral war left the Unites States with resentment, but not in its fullest form because the war was an experience that anyone who visited Vietnam would never forget. Immoral acts were regularly presented during the war, thus, exposing people to a different would other that their own. My Great Uncle Tommy, a Veteran, was in Vietnam for about six months, his experience preceded a scar in him that I think cannot ever be erased. In my interview with my Veteran we both tend to agree with Historian A, because he thought that even though it was, “one hellava experience, no one should ever have to endure pain, tragedy, or even death. It was a war that I was glad to fight in but I think that it was handled the wrong way”(Vet Interview 2000). These details and opinions will be expressed through Historian A. My Uncle Tommy enrolled into the army when he was nineteen years old, and arrived in Vietnam in 1967. When he arrived to Vietnam, it was a new experience that he found interesting. He had never been out of the country until the Vietnam War. As anyone who ever killed a person, one can be filled with extreme regret. My Veteran had killed total ov . . .
Two weeks later he walked out of the hospital with a knee/leg brace. He told me that they stripped off his clothes and had badly beaten him. One in particular caught my attention. I awoke to find myself in a makeshift hospital. Patrolling on ground just as he had been doing five months before he walked numerous fields looking for anything suspicious at all. We were all given orders, but only half the U. He described the look on the Vietcong’s face as being very terrified. They convinced us that we are right” (VI2000). He lost four friends total, and spent the next ten years of his life in psychotherapy. “Sometimes, I wish it never happened, when someone takes a life the guilty conscious thoughts race through my mind. He reminisced about his experiences in Vietnam and was telling me all sorts of stories.
