>From the past years of our grandparents and parents, a lot has changed through technology, music and views on life today. Our thoughts views and morals have differentiated between generations causing a large gap to separate us. Where we have been raised, what we have learned, listened and chosen what to do is a major effect that creates vagueness between both generations. My father Vince Armanino, a 44-year-old has grown up in the same town he is living in. He traveled the world at age 19 and has found Burlingame one of the nicest places to live. "Me living in the same place where I have grown up is not boring at all. This is where my roots are. Everything that has happened around made me who I am today." My father grew up in a very supported family and has always stuck together in a time of need. Denise an 18-year-old freshman at SSU has had somewhat a different lifestyle, "Living in Modesto isn't fun at all, and its too hot and not enough stuff to do there for people my age." She stated. At age 10, her parents were divorced and moved into a different house with her mom and 2 brothers. Denise explained, "Times have been rough but have worked out for the best." Both lives are very much different from each other but bo

The advances in technology, relationships and even music have become so overwhelming it has swallowed the older generation into thinking they can never catch up. The disciplines of both generations have been left to change with the advances of the world today. It is not so much that kids today do not understand the older generation it is the older generation who do not understand the younger. Now that our generation has been born into the technology world, our ways of communication have changed drastically, leaving computers a big part of our lives. To this day, the younger generation has a sense of why their parents are the way they are. " This may seem more of a stereotype then the truth so when asking my dad he responded " Alternative is more of a loud type of music for skateboarders. It simply became too hard to call everyone long distance, it cost me too much money and never had time to write. " Music is one example of how our generations have a misunderstanding of what each other is about. My father stated "I have never heard of trance but techno is more of a computer generated sound and something a lot of teens dance to, rock and roll has always had a way to influence most music artists today. I guessed their ideas of each other's music would be completely different. We grew up in the same generation and are the same age and to a certain extent agree with Denise. College talking with others was a tough thing; I lost contact with a lot of high school friends. " Denise stated, "Rock and Roll is the foundat!ion of most music. " Denise and I both have a lot in common.
