It shows how God faithfully brought the next generation to the border of Canaan, which was the promised land. It also recalls the Law of God, or the Ten Commandments. It shows us the differences between ourselves and God, and of course God's laws and rules, which, by following, we can gain redemption. Today, the book of Deuteronomy carries many different meanings to Christianity. So what I have apparently drawn from this book is that the main emphasis is on faith and obedience; for without these two virtues we are as damned as the people of Egypt were. Moses gives them instructions concerning many different aspects of the life in the land they are about to enter.
