A Comedy ... A Taming Of The Shrew

             There were many topics to choose from in one of Shakespeare's play by the name of The Taming of the Shrew. This play was a very funny play with many characters with many dilemmas that were just funny. Overall this was a comedy...and when I say a comedy that is exactly what I mean. There were problems dealing with marriage, father daughter as well as father son relationship problems, and even how women were portrayed throughout this play. I think the most intriguing topic is the way women are described throughout this play, the way women were portrayed throughout play. The women of the play are Bianca and Katherine (her nickname was Kate).
             Bianca and Katherine, live in Padua (a town in Italy). Bianca and Katherine are both the daughters of Baptista. Katherine was considered to be the bad sister so through out the story they were trying to get Bianca married so... basically whoever was left to marry Katherine could be their bride. Come to find out the story had a little twist to it.
             Bianca, the good sister, at least considered to be was married to Lucentio. Lucentio was a very wealthy gentleman. This marriage portrayed Bianca to be so evil. She was outspoken. She basically told Lucentio what to do. Lucentio was so in love that when he first met her, he feel in love. Also Bianca could be described as conceded she had three men that were willing to drop all just to be with her were Lucentio, Petruchio, and Tranio. Tranio loves her so much as in he goes as far as disguising himself as Lucentio to win Bianca's love. Many men were chasing and running after this so great of a woman, but in the end everyone thought that she would definitely be the best wife of the story. The story had a different perspective Bianca was seen through many eyes as evil, outspoken, and just plain out over rated. She was a bad example of a wife. Usually in these days the man would run the household, but in this particular cas...
