George Washington- "The Father of Our Country"George Washington was the father or our country. Our famous father, George Washington was born on February 22, 1732. George was born in Westmoreland county Virginia. When Washington was seven years old he moved to Rappahannock River, across from Fredericksburg, Virginia. This was where George was raised. George had five siblings. There was Elizabeth "Betty" who was born in 1733, Samuel who was born in 1734, John Augustine "Jack" who was born in 1736, Charles who was born in 1738, and Mildred who was born in 1739 and died the following year. George also had a half brother named Lawrence. He had two wonderful, caring parents, his mother Mary Ball and his father Augustine "Gus" Washington. George was born in Westmoreland county Virginia. Two years later, in 1754, he served as a colonel in the French and Indian War. When George sent out 4000 men to guard the Heights of Guana he left the left flank un-defendable. Washington led one hundred men to Yorktown to try, and hopefully, to defeat the British, who were under the commands of General Cornwallis. Washington led one hundred men to Yorktown to try, and hopefully, to defeat the British, who were under the commands of General Cornwallis. This battle was fought for Bunker Hill, but fought on Breed's Hill. He spent a few months training the "rag-tag" team, which was made up of untrained colonists. George Washington's knowing what he was doing was a great impact on/in the American Revolution. Good outcomes were he learned from his mistakes and he improved them or fixed them along the way. Washington became our first official president and to me will stay number one forever.
