Some experience "full blown mania" while others react in a more subtle way. Usually there are periods of depression between the mania, but not always. Bipolar Disorder is a biological disease of the brain. Since individuals usually do not recognize that they have a problem, they frequently resist their medications. These things are all thought to have great effect on mood swings and can aid in living a more balanced life. There were many links such as a family section, news from doctors, DSM IV diagnoses, notes from the Bipolar network, and newsletters. I spent the most time at this site. I found the information to be useful and learned a lot from the site. Some of the many things to learn about are support groups, Bipolar information, articles, treatments, related disorders, humor, and testimonies of others with Bipolar Disorder. I learned a lot from researching Bipolar Disorder on the internet. There is a place on the site to sign the guest book and also send in an e-mail if you have any more questions.
