The title of the book that I read is Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. George is the protagonist in this story. Lenny is the other main character in the book. George was friends with Lenny's Aunt Clara and she told him to take George with him to find jobs. George took Lenny and they set out to find work. Lenny is slow, as in a retard. He likes to pet and touch soft things. He was in the town that George and him were working at and he saw this little girl with a really soft looking dress. So Lenny just being himself went over to her and grabbed her dress and started to feel it. Lenny is real tall and has a lot of muscles, so when this girl saw this big guy feeling her dress, she screamed so loud that Lenny just held on tighter not knowing what to do. All of the men in the town came to look and they thought that he was trying to rape her. So then he got away and just started to run. George heard all of the commotion so he ran to find Lenny, but he was no where in si!ght. Then he found him hiding in a ditch. George and Lenny left town and walked to a farm that George had applied to work at. They got to the farm and told the boss that Lenny was real strong and was a good worker, but they never told the boss that he w
The climax of this novel is at the end of the book when George is about to shoot Lenny. I think that the moral of this book is that if you have the responceability of something then you need to take care of it and put it out of its misery. While Lenny was in the barn petting a puppy he kills it because it was trying to bite him and he got to excited and hit it so hard that it died. So he did and he likes soft things so he started to rub it a little more until she told him to stop then she scrame and started to shout so he told her to be quiet because he didn't know to stop or let go. She wouldn't shut up so he broke her neck and tried to hide her; when someone came in they say her and called to curly and he came and then got a gun and they all started to chase Lenny. They started work there and met all of the staff. There also is the stable buck, (a black guy) and Candy(an old man). George is normal height and is a little rugged looking and he is real smart. Then they just drag the dog out in the field and shoot it. Lenny hid by the river that George told him to and then George came and George shot Lenny because he was his responsibility just like when Slim shot Candy's old dog to put it out of its misery. He seems to be the character that I relate to the most. I like this novel because it had a good plot line and wasn't like any other book that I have ever read. Lenny thinks that he is going to get into trouble so he tries to shut her up so she starts to struggle so he breaks her neck by accident and she dies.
