Israelis vs. Palestinians

The controversy between the Israelis and the Palestinians is that hey each lived on the same land at different times and they both want the land. The Israelis now own the land and they have owned it since 1948 when they won the war against the Palestinians.

The Palestinians believe it is their land because they have lived on it for so long. They think it is unfair to just get kicked off their land.

The Jewish people believe it is their land because they were the first to settle it. It started when God told Abraham of Ur to leave and start a new nation. Later Abraham’s grandson Jacob wrestled with a man sent from God and won. God told Jacob his new name would be Israel meaning “one who wrestles with god.”

In 1700 BC, most of the Israelites left because of constant famine in Canaan. They went to Egypt where they became slaves.

Around this time Moses is born to a slave woman. At that time in Egypt because of overpopulation they would kill all the new borns so his mother hid him. She puts him in a basket and he floats away down the Nile River where the pharaohs’ wife finds him. Moses is then raised as a prince of Egypt. He later learns he is Jewish and so he helps the Israelites escape from Egypt with the power

. . .

The rededicated their temple and used one day worth of oil which lasted eight days which is where the Jewish religion got the holiday Hanukah.

Then a man named Judah Maccabee formed a revolt in the hills.

They then appointed a king named Saul.

Their freedom didn’t last long though because the powerful Roman Empire later conquered them. David put a rock in his sling and twirled it around and nailed Goliath in the middle of the forehead.

Moses then goes into the water and divides it into two parts with a path down the middle. They tried revolting but were denied each time until the Romans got so fed up the exiled the Israelites from the Promised Land. After they left Egypt and got to the Red Sea the guards cornered them because Ramses changed his mind. When they were ready they used hit and run tactics called “gorilla warfare. They both existed together for 200 years side by side until the Assyrians conquered the kingdom of Israel in 721 BC. The Babylonians them conquered Judah in 586 BC. I think that because they were the first to settle it so if they come back and conquer it, it should belong to them. So what I’m trying to say is that if your conquer it, it belongs to you.
