This market innovator soon developed the technology to become the leader in the field of computer programming. Gates and Allen both had big plans for this modernistic company and came up with different ways of managing people and products in order to create possibly the most effective and versatile workforce of any corporation in existence. Competitors hold back on competing, because many of them are concerned with product enterprises, and put into consideration that they will never have the marketing muscle and anti-competitive product leverage options that Microsoft maintains. While Microsoft's salaries may seem a bit on the low end of the scale and the fact that they pay no overtime might discourage some, more than a few of the companies employees are millionaires. By creating innovative and useful programs, Microsoft also gained an ever-expanding market for their products. By developing the product at one site, with multiple teams of programmers working together on separate sections of the programs, and by having the program ready to go the second it was completed has allowed Microsoft to introduce products and programs to market quickly and inexpensively. Competition: The software industry is one of the great success stories of our free market system. Additions to property and equipment will continue, including new facilities and computer systems for R&D, sales and marketing, support, and administrative staff.
