An interesting and insightful essay on the uses and definitions of crypts and encryption in texts. Shows the hidden forms that crypts incorporate and also the information they kept hidden. This essay displayed crypts that were unnoticed upon initial reading of Beloved. The ideas that hidden and separated situations and stories were elicited along with the knowledge of why they were initially hidden.
             Bois, Danuta. "Toni Morrison". netsrq. Online. University of Idaho. September 24, 1998. A short essay of biological information. Starting at her birth, it explores Morrison's life and career.
             Furman, Jan. Toni Morrison's Fiction. Columbia: University of South Carolina Press, 1996. This informative book goes through the need to understand non-traditional forms of poetry and prose for uninitiated readers and also explores the reason and motives behind Morrison's Beloved. It points out that after four successful novel, Morrison no longer had a need to write anything as she no longer had stories that only she could share. Ms. Furman takes a deconstructive stance as she analyses the thoughts behind Beloved. In regards to this project, it is clear that this book will serve the function of displaying motives and thoughts behind Beloved.
             Heinze, Denise. The Dilemma of 'Double Consciousness' Toni Morrison's Novels. Athens: University of Georgia Press, 1993. This book points out the ties between the characters in the ways of motherhood and African American ancestry. It explores the theories behind Beloved's re-appearance and the effects on all other characters. The strengths of this book for this project are many. They range from theories on Beloved, to the uses of slavery.
