Friendship

             You lifted me up when I could not lift up myself, you made me smile when I forgot how to, you were there for me in the times of need, and you were there for me when I needed nothing at all. Friendship to me is a gift without the expectation of anything in return; instead the reward is the friendship itself. The Webster Dictionary defines friendship as a state of being friends. There are many aspects of the word friendship such as trustworthy, loyalty, and honesty.
             Friendship comes in many shapes, sizes, and colors. I have seen many friendships work and many that did not. Being trustworthy is a very important factor in a friendship. If there is no trust then the it is not going to work out. For example, I had to learn the hard way on choosing my friends. I would confide my deepest secrets to one friend, and she was the only one that I told. A couple of days would go by and I would end up hearing my secrets from someone else. After this same incident happened one to many times I had to end our friendship. I was hurt because I could not trust my best friend and we were best friends for many years. She was like a sister to me. She knew everything there was to know about me and I knew everything about her. I kept my promise to never tell her secrets, but she did not give me the same respect and keeping my deepest secrets with her. From personal experience, I have learned that trust has to be in a friendship in order for the frien!
             Loyalty should be a part of any friendship. It is being faithful to a person or duty. When the word duty is expressed it means to me, a person is finally complete when he or she has a faithful friend to understand them. They share all the passions, sorrows, and stand by them through out life. A true friend will stand by them through thick and thin. No matter what the problem is they would defend them. Friendship is like no other; it cares not about your past nor your future
