Nurse Betty

Nurse Betty is a movie that has received numerous great reviews; will it live up two it? The Boston Globe gives it three and a half out of four stars and says it's lively, edgy, full of zigs and zags, juicy performances and off beat fun. The Chicago Sun Times gives it three out of 4 stars, and the New York Times says it's the finest American comedy since Flirting with Disaster. Good review after good review this movie is getting. I couldn't find one paper or critic that didn't enjoy this movie. Here's another from Entertainment Weekly, they say "there's no way to encapsulate the bigness of heart with which Nurse Betty expands to embrace creation." Reading all these good reviews had me excited to go see the movie, only to let me down. The story line was horrible and I was wondering if the critics saw the same movie I saw. The movie starts out in Kansas City with Betty (Renne Zellweger) who works in a luncheonette as a waitress. She is a huge fan of the soap opera "A Reason to Love", especially one male doctor in the soap Dr. David Ravell (Greg Kenner). She is also married to a cheating, drug dealing husband named Del. Betty is at home one night and her husband is talking to two thugs (Chris Rock and Morgan Fe

With all the hype and good reviews this movie got people will probably flock to see it, but they will only go once. David Ravell and decides to travel all the way to Southern California to find him. These numbers are not that impressive and reflect how bad this movie really is. This horrible movie ends like this. It will probably only be shown in the theaters for 1 or two weeks tops. It wasn't too bad of an opening for the movie but it is not all that good either considering that there was not too much competition for it in its opening weekend. Instead they think she is an actor and that she wants a part in the soap, so they give her a chance. In the first weekend in the theaters, it came in second grossing 7,145,950 dollars, about two million behind the number one movie. So she goes there and finally tracks him down with some help form a friend, she meet when she got to California. She freezes up cause she doesn't know what is going on and this is when the doctor finally wakes up and realizes she is crazy and flips out on her screaming and yelling. But after thinking about it for a while a couple of things came to mind, but the most obvious is that u shouldn't assume a person's personality on just watching them but by getting to know them. I came to this cause everyone in the movie was falling in love with each other just by visual attraction, I believe it had many other little themes but this is the one that stood out the most. The lighting in the movie was really good too, there was no problem seeing what was going on.
