Upon interviewing the children, we would just walk up to them and ask them if they would like to get interviewed. This did not work out to well. The children would just ignore us, as if we didn’t exist or they would try to be interviewed, by us, but eventually lost the patience and wanted to continue to play the video games. Although, when there is up to 4 people playing one game at a time the noise level goes up and the body language of having fun is over exaggerated. It was mostly the younger children that wanted to play the recreational and the adventure games. When we played with them, we were coming into their comfort zone, so they didn’t feel uncomfortable and they were having fun while answering our questions. They wanted to see what they could do in that game, and a person was praised when they could do more violent and gruesome acts in the game. When there is one person playing the game, that person keeps to himself, for the most part. However, the older children were concerned on the violence. Those younger children were playing games with cartoon characters, su!

ch as the Simpsons and Blues Clues. The last interesting factor is that children tend to be louder when there are more participants in the game. They became more willing to answer our questions. Another interesting factor is not every child wanted to play the violent games. Those children were more interested in the characters that they were playing with rather than the violence that they were doing.
