Bioethical dilemma

             Biological Ethics is an issue that has arisen recently due to advancements in technology. Technology has greatly improved over the last decades allowing scientists to reach unimaginable frontiers (Detjen). Advancements in technology ultimately lead to questioning of ethics on science (Edward). Science is changing the traditional way people used to see the world. For centuries and millennia, ethics and values were believed to stem from God's commandments (Beyley). The question "Should we play God?" arises to contradict scientist's ideas (Beyley). Because of science, the basic moral laws are not seen upon as absolute. "What is, however, rapidly eroding the traditional and established ethical practice is the cost factor that now appears to underline every major hospital case" (White). "It is almost as if the ethics and morals of medicine must be evaluated on a cost-plus basis" (White). The reason why a doctor cures a person is because of the money and not for the moral !
             or ethical satisfaction. Biological ethics should be strengthened because this will cause the environment to be preserved, families will not have to spend a lot of money saving a loved one, and the basic moral laws will be kept.
             In the first place, biological ethics should increase due to the fact that the discovery of new energy sources such as petrochemicals is harming the environment, and it is leaving the earth polluted. For example, the lesson from the petrochemical industry is that environmental regulation has become essentially impossible. The only thing people can do is to roll back the industry if the people are concerned with its impact on the environment. This shows that when there are no ethics, improvements in technology can be devastating.
