Citizen Kane
One of Citizen Kane's main themes was the idea that childhood is lost. Throughout the entire film, Kane was seen trying to recapture his youth. Of course, everyone's childhood is lost. The cabin in the globe must have reminded him of his mother's boarding house. One technique that I especially liked was the flashbacks. My overall reaction to Citizen Kane was favorable. st prominent one in my mind was his last word, rosebud. This is the only similarity I see in the two movies. I think that is one of the reasons he did not destroy the globe as he was destroying everything else in Suzie's room. I liked watching Kane's life through the eyes of people who were close to him. !One movie that reminds me of the lost childhood theme is Big, starring Tom Hanks. In the Big, Hanks loses his childhood and wants to go back; I think Kane wants to go back also. He was obviously thinking of his sled from his childhood. I thought it made it more interesting than just seeing it through Kane's eyes.
