Statutory Rape

What is happening to the relationships we once thought were all OK? What are these relationships that are so appalling, that it's illegal? It is known asStatutory Rape. It is considered to be a relationship with a boy or girl that isunder the age of 18, who are wrongfully having a sexual relationship with a boyor girl who is over the age of 18. But these "such age differences are of littlepublic interest"(Darroch, Jacqueline 1) which can't really assist to the laws thathave already been written and stated. One of the original laws were "designed toprotect adolescent girls from sex under any circumstances, regardless of whether, there was consent."(Westphal, Sylvia 4) Also another law was "a group of stepstaken that make punishments harsh, including first, second, and third."(Westphal,Sylvia 4) The reason that the nation is trying to be more tough on this issue isbecause many minors do not know what they are getting themselves into, with noresponsibility, and even acknowledgment of what could happen next, and thisnext problem would either be an unwanted pregnancy or a life threateningdisease. The following facts lead to the research of my paper, of howpunishments need to be more strictly inv

"So parents need to stand up against their daughters or sons dating older/youngerpeople. Because if not, the children will follow after their parents footsteps and not evenbe close to ready to face the difficulties they face ahead. This minor will now probably or have to drop out of school, get kicked out of his/her house, and will live homeless. "(Meckler, Laura 5) Letting the new born child grow up into a future of dreams and hopes instead ofsuffering and problems. Thanks to the "Cultural Protections which are now trying very hard to protect these born children with such family problems into aworld of love and hope. "(Meckler, Laura 5) So you know that your not all alone! Many peopleface this problem just because they never think that it could happen to them. One example is "any minor that gives birth to a baby know very little and don't have the responsibility or even age to deal with parenting. Think about what you are doing first before you putyourself and another life at waste ------------------------------------------------------------------------**Bibliography**Works CitedDarroch E.
