1-Bunker Hill: (1775) happened near Boston. General Gage led his British troops in an attack on the colonial militia. The militia was made up of farmers and merchants and who ever was a free African American. The Americans fought well, but had to retreat when they ran out of ammunition. The Americans proved that they can fight the British army.

French blocked the British from aiding Cornwalis. 5-Yorktown: (1781) Washington & his army arrived here from N. 4-Valley Forge: (1777-1778) General Howe moved his army from N. Burgoyne surrendered his entire army. General John Burgoyne led a British army south from Canada in to New York state. General Horatio Gates, led the American army . Concord: (1775) they wanted to defend the colonies.
