Loss of a Friend
It was the first day of my high school experience, and I had been in Switzerland with my grandparents for two weeks. Everyone had been to orientation, but I had missed it. I had no idea where any of my classes were. The day went on, but I didn't feel very comfortable. I went to my fourth period class, and there he was with his wonderful smile. This smile could turn any bad day around. As soon as I walked in the door he embraced me and said, " I have missed you so much." "Not as much as I missed you," I replied. I then found my seat and sat down to listen to the teacher. As she was explaining the rules of the class, I started thinking about how Michael and I met. For some reason death was the topic. Everyone will die sooner or later, so have no regrets. " Would you cry if I died?" he asked me. It was not long after our introduction that we became friends. I was walking down the hall one day with my friend, and we passed him. I loved just being around him, or even talking to him. The next week was really hard for me. He was the most positive person I knew. One particular party sticks out in my mind. We were out of school by eleven-thirty, and everyone was so happy. The only person I missed or even thought about was Michael. My friend answered, and after about five minutes she hung up. He started hanging out with all my friends and went to the movies with us every Friday night. It was a tragic experience in my life, but I learned a lot from it. We would talk about everything that was going on in our lives, and what we didn't finish we talk!ed about over the phone.
