Existentialist and To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar

Existentialist and To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie NewmarExistentialists believe in free will, making choices, and living with those consequences. This is not some kind of weird "hippy" philosophy; it makes sense. Existentialistic thought is predominately a 20th century revelation. As a philosophy, it states that man possesses free will over his fate and the direction he wants his life to take. To tie this all in, I will discuss the movie To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar which was based upon three men portraying transvestites on their way to California for a fashion show. I will discuss the authentic existences according to the criteria of an existentialist, the distinction between sex and gender and its relevance to the movie and the distinction between sex and gender with existentialist idea of authentic existence. In the movie, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar: Noxzema, Vida, and Chi Chi lived an authentic existence according to the criteria set forth by Jean - Paul Sartre and other

Beauvoir seems to consider women's reproductive function as the main obstacle to their realizing the radical freedom. For example, a physical male whose inner gender identity is male. Sex is used to generally describe a person's external anatomy and gender being an internal aspect of sexual identity. The movie To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, was an authentic existence according to Jean - Paul Sartre. Since individuals are free and able to make choices, their existence is determined by the choices they make, and these choices establish the future into which they project themselves. So by understanding Beauvoir's philosophy, we do not become our genders from a place prior to culture or embodied life, but essentially within their terms. However, all decisions are individual; everyone is responsible for his or her choices. Sartre, the existent is identified with the series of phenomena, which tell us of its existence. Sartre maintains that appearance is the entire and only reality. With this in mind, the distinction between sex and gender is an existentialist idea of authentic existence because they choose to be that way. He is male on the outside and male on the inside. His gender identity and his external body sex are congruent with each other. In other words, to be an existent means to be a series of appearances. Limiting the number of options available to an individual in any situation reduces that being's freedom to express a free will.
