Personal Goals

Deciding to return to school is the most important decision a person can make. Obtaining a higher education degree provides endless opportunities. When the decision has been made, it is important to have some goals in mind in order to have something to strive forward to when it seems as though one may not be able to reach their ultimate objective-receiving a degree. Some goals to keep in mind are an overwhelming amount of knowledge, financial stability and at least a moderate degree of success are all key motivators when pursuing a higher education. My Goals as a University Student The decision to return to school was one that was more of an inevitable decision rather than some sort of an epiphany. There is no doubt that there is a direct correlation between receiving a degree and achieving at least a modest degree of success. The fact that many people decide not to pursue this obvious ticket to success can be rationalized through many different excuses. Whether it is not enough time, a lack of motivation, or the fear of not spending enough time with family, those who choose not to further their education have an abundant array of reasons to remain complacent in their lives. Hard work is required in all we do, for nothing is meant to come easy in life. This may be true due to the fact that one who has maxed out his earning potential in a company he has been with for many years may not have as much as an opportunity to find work elsewhere than one who has a degree most likely will be able to go anywhere he desires and find employment (R. Knowledge is the key to obtaining information about anything and everything. Deciding to return to school seems like the most obvious answer to those moments when one is faced with doubts of self worth, issues relating to financial stability and the need to feel important. It is, however, crucial in pursuing this decision that one puts forth as much effort as possible in order to acquire the maximum amount of fulfillment. Without knowledge, there would be nothing. This may be the most important aspect of knowledge because learning to deal with others unlike ourselves gives one the ability to adapt to any situation thereby finding success in any circumstance. Success can be identified many ways. e more goal oriented, the opportunity to obtain more knowledge, to eventually become financially stable and to reach some degree of success, professionally or otherwise, are the primary objectives in returning to pursue further education. It will provide a sense of awareness when dealing with people who may not have the same values or who may not have had the same type of upbringing. In order to walk one has to be taught. It provides knowledge in the sense that one is able to learn about different types of people and different personalities. Due to the unlimited number of opportunities available after receiving a degree, completing a degree in higher education provides the ultimate degree of success. In order to feel a sense of accomplishment, a sense of pride, and a sense of self worth, one must continue to feel challenged. The realization of such a profound decision can never be made too late, for all who ultimately reach this decision shall eventually feel some form of satisfaction.
