Z for Zach

             Even though the Bible and Z For Zachariah are books that a very different you can still relate than to each other. You can relate Ann from Z For Zachariah and the real Zachariah from the Bible. In the Bible, Zachariah tells how the Lord gave him eight meaningful visions to help the people overcome their problems. You can relate this to Ann and how she had visions of helping people read and write as a school teacher of the new world. If you compare the two books you can also see a relationship between the safe suit and the Lord. It says in the Bible that the Lord gave Zachariah messages about a time far in the future. The message was, "Jerusalem and Judah will be attacked by all nations. Many of the people of Judah would be killed, but the Lord himself will appear and recuse the people." If you relate the safe suit and the Lord you can see that they both played a role in the stories as being a life saver. Jerusalem was attacked and destroyed in 507 B.C. They had to star!
             t all over with their society, this is like Ann and Mr. Loomis. They had to start all over with life itself and think about having children to keep the human species alive.
             Or you could look at the perspective of how Z stands for Zachariah, the last man on earth. In the book the phrase "Z for Zachariah" was only used once but has a very important role in the book. When she was little she had an alphabet book which started out A for Adam and Z for Zachariah. She thought that since Adam was the first person in the book, Zachariah would be the last. In a sense she could be Zachariah, or the last person on earth.
             Chapter 1 - It is odd that everyone is dead in the world except for a teenage girl. What year is this? What War? I would be very glad to see smoke, that might mean that someone is actually alive on the earth besides yourself.
