The Real Superman

             "Hey Billy, wait up", Niko called to his friend as they were walking to school one day. Niko was a young boy, only eleven years of age and yet always friendly with everyone he came into contact with. He always seemed to be different from the others in some supernatural way, but he never paid much attention to the fact that he was different. Growing up, his dad, Boris, was very strict and punished him all of the time. Niko did not deserve to be punished, but Boris often acted out when he was drunk. Niko's father punished him physically, whereas other parents punish their children by revoking privileges. Niko's mother, Becky, tried to help but she knew that she would only get Niko into more trouble. When he came into school hurt, he used to say that he fell down the stairs. The teacher started getting very suspicious when Niko was around eight but she didn't do anything about it. When Niko was nine, he had a better teacher and she had called the police. Boris was arrested sever!
             al times, but Becky kept on bailing him out because she was afraid that when he did get out he would get mad. Becky knew that he would just hit Niko again. It came to the point where Boris started hitting Becky once in a while.
             One day Niko came into school with a bruise on his right eye.
             "You ain't nothing but a hound dog..."Niko started singing quietly in his bedroom.
             Boris was downstairs drinking some beer and screamed,
             Niko stated shaking as he was going down the stairs.
             "I'm sorry daddy, I didn't mean to, it won't happen again," Niko said, his voice shaking.
             "Good, his father said, now come here," Boris said very sternly.
             Niko walked over to him very slowly.
             "Get down on your knees and beg for my forgiveness," Boris said.
