“Blue...22...Blue...22...Down...Set...Hike!” Is usually what you’ll

hear on the field when the quarterback yells for the snap. If you are an on

looking fan from the stands you are hoping to here... “ Touchdown!” In

the fall, football is the sport to watch, whether it’s pee wee or if it’s NFL,

Football is a sport that is thought to be first played by the Greeks.

Though, in their time it was called harpaston. The idea was pretty much

the same. You want to get the ball over the goal line by either running it,

kicking it or passing it, and that’s exactly what you do in football now.

The only major difference would have to be the style of defense. Now

tackling people has limits on the ways you can tackle...there’s no tackle

after the play, you have to have intent...and so on, but back in the time of

the Greeks their tackling the considered to ferocious.

Though the Greeks may have been the first to play the sport, the

Europeans were the first to have the most modern style we play today. In

the twelveth century the game was popular that various English monarchs,

including Edward II and Henry VI, forbade the game because
