Since so many people are going to San Francisco many entertainers are going there too because the miners and their families need entertainment. Many acting troupes are going to San Francisco to open theaters where they can have many plays and make a lot of money. It has been rumored that one ticket to a good theater play has been auctioned off for $10,000! So many acting troupes have been on a journey across America to find riches in San Francisco- but not by finding gold, but building a theater. Many acting troupes travel around from town to town and rent theaters or big areas and make plays, so it was just what they always did, traveling from town to town but they were going west as they did it.
