Of all the people trying to change Huck, the one who was most effective was Tom Sawyer. Tom was the one person Huck couldn’t force himself to contradict. Huck never thought he could do anything well without Tom. Huck even agreed to, “robbery and murder,” so he could hang out with Tom.
