Many question the legal rights of women. The answer to this question is multi-faceted. If the Declaration of Independence concerned the freedom, equality, justice, and prosperity of all people, that also means that women should be entitled to these rights. Women finally decided to take action and started the suffrage campaign that took 72 ceaseless years and the concerted efforts of thousands of women. In 1920, women finally won the most basic right in any democracy, the right to vote. Bit by bit women have worked their way to the top. However, women still experience many injustices. A lot has changed in the last couple of decades but everyday, every minute, some woman is probably being abused in some way in the world!. Violence against each other is for prestige and competition against each other. (Where women come to court with complaints of 2 or even 3 types of harassment due to their gender. In only a few of these cases involving men have these complaints been brought up. For example, a profession that deals with construction. Violence not only still affects women in the home, but also in the workplace, school, and the everyday arena of life. Women should try their best to prove themselves in every way possible and be independent to show that the old ideas certainly were incorrect and do not apply to the present idea of a woman. Most Women who are victims of violence are an easy target for harassment and discrimination. A lot has been done to try and solve the problem, but it has not been enough. It is said that women are entitled to equal opportunity. The chance that women will face discrimination far exceeds the chances of men. Additionally, there are acts of violence that women perpetrate against each other-and commit against themselves. Dual discrimination if not triple discrimination are very common these days and are often alleged in court cases involving women. Most men are not sexually harassed to the same extent as women in the workplace. Obviously the problem will never be solved completely and men experience these problems also but these problems are usually associated with women.
