Breast Cancer

Everyday, at least 3,000 people are diagnosed with cancer. The cells divide in the body more rapidly and keep growing when they would normally stop. A large mass of cells may form into a tumor. The cancer cells that have developed may interfere with the work of normal cells in the body. Often the doctor will inject dye into the patient's bloodstream that can be seen on the X-ray film. Early radiologists that worked with X-ray machines developed cancer from frequently being exposed to radiation, even though the amounts were small it built up over time and cancer developed. (Chamberlain, 102) ------------------------------------------------------------------------**Bibliography**. In 194 about 182,000 new cases of breast cancer were discovered and out of those forty-six thousand died (Hereda 64) Scientists are now working on five new studies; the studies introduce the use of a high dose of chemotherapy with autologous bone marrow. This disease will not go away by itself and it will take time. The treatment for incurable cases is mastectomy or removal of the breast(s), along with stilbestrol, a synthetic female hormone, in case of relapse.
