I came to Chicago two years ago. During this time in the United States, I have discovered and explored the beauty of the "wind city" and I still remember what a great impression Chicago left in my traveler's heart the first time I saw it. I was simply amazed by an astonishing sight of this city. The country I come from is small, and there are no skyscrapers, stunning skylines, or multi-million city populations; therefore, it was very exciting to see all those things in one place. Although Chicago has many distinctive neighborhoods with all kinds of attractions, my favorite place is the downtown.
             The downtown of Chicago is located right by the Lake Michigan, and the other parts of the city are spread west from it. There are a few harbors stretching along the lakeshore. During the summer season, they get "filled up" with the sailboats and yachts; it seems that the lake "awakes" then. One of the harbors belongs to Navy Pier. It is a big promontory with a convention center, theatre, museum, Ferris wheel, gardens, and many other attractions like sightseeing boat tours, fireworks shows, and live music bands.
             Two main streets – Michigan and State – run along the downtown covering many of the Chicago's landmarks. The most impressive city's decoration is the Sears Tower which is the tallest building in the United States and one among the tallest in the world. This giant skyscraper has one hundred ten floors and is about one thousand four hundred and fifty feet tall. The Sears Tower is a dark color, tube-shaped building with thousands and thousands of bronze-tinted windows. At the top, this skyscraper has two antennas sticking out of the highest platform. At night, you can see the glowing antennas with two flashing lights on their ends from far away.
