My project is on John F. Kennedy. Kennedy was the thirty-fifth president. He was born in Brookline, Massachusetts, on May 29,1917. He was the second son of Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Kennedy. He graduated from Harvard University in 1940, the entered the navy.
His own part in the war was distinguished by bravery. In August 1943 he rescued several of his crewmen, on boat PT-109, after a Japanese destroyer off the Solomon Island had rammed the boat.
When he returned home to Boston he joined the Democratic Party and successfully ran for the U.S House of Representatives in 1946. Voters elected him to the U.S Senate in 1952. The next year he married Jacqueline Bouvier, they were the parents of two children Caroline Bouvier and John F. Kennedy Jr.
After an unsuccessful attempt to win the Vice-President nomination in 1956, Kennedy began to plan for presidential election of 1960. He assumed leadership of the Democratic Party’s liberal wing. He won the nomination on the first ballot. The issues of defense and economic stagnation were raised in four televised debates.
