What is a hero

What is a hero? A definition of hero, out of many, would be a person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life for a great cause. That is the definition that you would get out of a dictionary. My definition of a hero would be close to the same, but everybody has his or her own unique definition of a hero.

To me, many people would be a hero in my eyes. When I was a child my father was my hero, keeping me safe from all of the monsters of the night. When I began to grow

. . .

my hero’s were fictitious characters from books, fighting dragons and evil wizards to rescue the beautiful maiden from giant castles in the sky.

Mother Teresa, maybe the greatest of them all, helped millions of homeless and sick people find hope. He led millions of people in a non-violent movement to bring an end to the segregation of the races in the United States.

Queen Elizabeth was a hero to millions of people, she was loved throughout the world and when she died millions mourned her. When I hit my teens I was filled with stories of hero’s, such as Martin Luther King, Queen Elizabeth, and Mother Teresa. These great selfless people suffered great discomfort and even death to give back hope to the world. Their names will be carried on for centuries to come, right next to all of the other hero’s of the past, present, and future. Mother Teresa traveled the world speaking to people about God, returning the hope to them, and letting them know that there is still tomorrow.

Martin Luther King, a great man, risked his life for a great cause. Even today, years after her death people still mourn her death. Like Queen Elizabeth, thousands mourned Mother Teresa’s death.
