That is the main question being asked in the recent article in the Washington Post. In the article, 'Ally Mcbeal,' Insecurity Blanket, written by Lonnae O'Neal Parker, the question is answered. Through quoting the song lyrics played in the famous television show, Ally Mcbeal, the writer gives you the real feeling of what the show is about. In her humorous article, Parker is able to find many different perspectives of the viewers of the show. Using expressions such as "a k a", and terms such as "creepy", Parker expresses different women's opinions of the television show, in a mannerism that is just like the show itself. In a different light, articles referring to women in television could be written very differently. Written in the Journal of Popular Film and Television, Rhonda V. Wilcox's article, Dominate Female, Superior Male, expresses a more serious look at women and!
             their roles in television. The biggest difference between the two articles is that one is written in a scholarly tone (Wilcox) and the other is written in a popular writing tone (Parker). To add to her own "fun" writing style, Parker uses many small paragraph's to keep the readers interested. With no indentations and many one sentenced paragraphs the article seems to move quite fast and never getting boring although it is a long article. Using terms that are used daily and socially, adds to a pleasant feeling of comfort while reading the article. The format of this article is what makes it so easy to read and so enjoyable. Although the article was organized informally, it flowed rather well and continued to be clear and concise all the way through.
