No Napping For Napster

Is it truly bad to let people trade MP3s in an easier more accessible way? Napster Music Community is an internet company used to trade music in the format of MP3s. Throughout record companies and bands there have been controversies, claiming the loss of money due to Napster. They have tried to bring Napster to legal terms, but Napster is not actually selling the music. The most recent ruling has been a cease and desist order which may be appealed again. Despite the legal battles, many aspects prove trading MP3s on Napster to be less severe a problem than it seems.

Since many users of Napster have spoken on behalf of the company, many have agreed that downloading MP3s merely gives them a preview of the CDs they desire to buy. . Napster is the future in obtaining music. songs on the album of certain artists. It also makes them aware of these bands' new albums. Napster also sponsors many favorite bands on their sites. Punk is known as music played for the pure love of music. When they only like one song on it, they never buy anything by this artist anymore.

Ironically, Napster has been known as a corporate monster in the music industry; however, it actually helps create revenue. Napster's page gives them coverage without making them sell-outs because they are not giving into the advertising that is done purely out of greed for money. It seems that without a known record label or lots of touring, it is almost impossible to obtain prestige. Already paid-for facilities let the bands and record companies make solid profit. Supporting unknown artists and bringing them to record companies, Napster is providing money for them both.
