Searching through memories, events, and experiences I discover myself uncovering more about myself and my character. Insightful to my desires and interests have been necessary to discover my true place of enjoyment. A place where I find enjoyment is any ordinary baseball field or baseball game. Size and popularity do not interfere with the pleasure received from the field and the game. An integral influence for the enjoyment I find in baseball, and the place where it is played, lies deep within my life. Baseball is the reason I learned to develop discipline, teamwork, and a rightful attitude. Another foundation for pleasure is the eminence time spent on the field or at games with my family. It never really mattered what we were doing; whether it was practice, games, or even my sister's games, we always had a great time. The baseball game is more than nine players running around bases or catching fly balls, but more the thrill of doing it all together, especially with my family in the backyard. Baseball is and has always been my life; I am an individual rotating around a corked, string filled object rather than the ideals of the world. The excitement and anticipation when you lace your cleats or finish the pre-game warm up is emotionally overwhelming. It's as simple as hitting your first ball or making the first out when a feeling of confidence and determination takes over your body and encourages you to continue playing nine innings of amazing baseball. The capability of playing the greatest game ever and playing it where Babe Ruth hit the record making home run or where Greg Maddox won a Cy Young Award is truly remarkable. I look forward to many years of aiding my children experience the thrill of baseball. Baseball is no respecter of persons or age; in essence, it connects generations together with an unbreakable bond of commonality. The magic and exhilaration of the experience
