How psychedelics affect behavior.doc

The main feature of any of the substances labeled psychedelic is the enhancement of experience. Psychedelics have even been described as "instant experience." This happens because this type of drugs affects the thinking and often senses like vision, hearing, smell, touch, and the body sensors that are responsible for informing the brain about body needs. Also affects moods and emotions and suppresses memory centers and other higher cerebral functions, such as judgment, reason, behavior control, and self-awareness. These include such effects as pupil dilation, increased heart rate, and blood pressure, increased body temperature, and increased sweating.
