Siddhartha and Gandhi

Siddhartha and Gandhi never met each other, never met the same people, they were in different time period from each other, but they are alike in many ways. This essay is going to explain how Siddhartha and Gandhi's accomplishments and teaching affect the world. You will see that two men, from different times and that have never met are alike yet different. Siddhartha was a Brahmin's son who had a lot going for him, with riches and health. He saw the Samanas one-day and decided that he should join them. He knew that he had to ask his father first which he did... " I wish to become a Samana. I trust my father will not object." He left the next day on his path to Nirvana. "Nirvana is not only a word, my friend, it is a thought." Through his life, he went through many changes and lessons. He learned love, gambling and not caring. He changed his life style with the people that he met and the type of things that he was doing at the time. Such as when he met Kamala, he changed appearance so that she would talk to him. By the end of all his learning and teaching he reached goal, pure peace. Anything that you said or did would be anot

By him, giving up his riches and dressing like them he felt that he would fit in more and the people of India would listen to him if he were one of them. They both gave up the rich life that they would have had, fasted, did things in a peaceful way to learn and reach their goal. Gandhi started out the same way as Siddhartha. No "colored" men were attorneys in 1893 in South Africa. Siddhartha was the founder of a religion that has 324,000,000 followers worldwide; !this religion is called Buddhism. Siddhartha gave up his riches to go live and from the Samanas, Gandhi gave up riches to be like the people of India. Gandhi was on a train heading to South Africa, in first class but was thrown off because he was a "colored" man and at that, they thought that he was lying when he said an attorney.
