James Earl Carter Jr., the thirty-ninth president of The United States of
America, is still an involved and influential authority figure today. After leaving
the oval office and his presidency, he refused to spend his retirement years
relaxing on a private estate or playing golf as many ex-presidents have chosen
to do before him. Instead Jimmy Carter has shown millions of people throughout
the world that he has a heart of gold.

foreign countries caused by war, disease, and famine by the means of
advancing peace and health. They donate their own personal items to the
auction each year.
Jimmy Carter also serves as a chair to the Conflict Resolution Program
(CRP). The Carter Center’s chief
purpose is based on the motto that “Everyone on earth should be able to live in
peace.
He helped to renovate a six story building to meet the housing needs of nineteen
families. This establishment monitors worldwide
conflicts on a weekly basis and offers advice and assistance to struggling
countries concerning their governments and democracy. The INN tries to unite
different peacemaking groups in a global harmony effort. Each year since, he and his beloved wife donate a week of their time to
build homes for those less fortunate than themselves. Carter, in 1984, involved himself in Habitat for Humanity International. Although
there are some critics of Mr. Carter’s residential reign, there is no doubt that
