Title: "There's A Girl In My Hammerlock"Main Characters: Maisie, Eric, Tina, Liz, P.K., Mom, Mr. Capelli, and TankThis book is about a girl named Maisie who was at the pool one day and was talking to a boy named Eric Delong and she fell in love with him as she thought! When they got back into school the next year Maisie tried out for Cheerleading and thought she would make it, but she didn't. She thought one of the reasons she didn't make it was because one of the girls on the squad was Liz and Liz didn't like Maisie at all also Maisie didn't like Liz because Eric liked Liz! She was very upset, because she thought if she was a cheerleader Eric Delong would notice her better! So instead of being very upset with not making cheerleading Maisie decided to go out for wrestling (Eric did wrestling)! A lot of people were surprised to see a GIRL try out for wrestling even the coach was. The coach had to have a talk with Maisie and her parents, and Maisie learned just because she was a girl she wouldn't get any special treatment. Maisie's mom was by her all the way every time something was wrong M!aisie's mom was there. Also Maisie was like a Superstar to her little sister P.K. and her sisters friend
Maisie went chasing after him she was thinking in her mind how come I screamed at him this boy looks up to me like I am a star. There were some bad things about being on the wrestling team. People had wrote things to the newspaper about Maisie wrestling on a boys team and the newspaper wrote bad things about Maisie in the newspaper and brought it to the public, so Maisie wrote to the newspaper talking about how horrible it was for someone to do that and all this other stuff about it. Well the results were listed for this pole and this is what it said Hunkiest Boy At The Dance. Another problem was none of the boys ever wanted to wrestle Maisie because she was a girl, also none of the girls wanted to go near Maisie they all hated her because she was on the wrestling team. It was fun at first but then some kids were taking a poll at the dance and for some reason they hadn't asked Maisie for an answer to her opinion. Maisie's new good friend was T!ina. For a few matches whoever Maisie got paired up to wrestle with from the other team the boy would always forfeit the match, of course because Maisie was a girl. So when Maisie told her mom this she let Maisie get a pet, so she got a pet rat a lot of people were very disgusted with it. She started screaming at him, he ran out of the house crying he felt very bad. So it was Friday night and Tina came to Maisie's house and made her go to the dance with her. As he was running down the street a plow truck was coming and Maisie yelled "Tank watch out!" as she was standing next to him the plow truck picked them both up and there was a big pile of snow Maisie told Tank to jump down in it and he landed safely! All of a sudden Maisie woke up in a hospital bed she had scratches and was hurting all over her whole body was aching. When she came home from her date she went inside and was going to go talk to her rat Bernadette about it but she went in and it was gone she starting screaming and looking for it. The next day in school no one was very nice to her they all would whisper about a girl being on the wrestling team and called her a boy so that was a down side of being on the wrestling team.
