             "Cities and Neighborhoods as Community"
            
             The definition of community is broad but it does contain a few key elements. A community is a tightly bonded group of people working together to achieve one common goal. Some aspects included in this definition are organization, teamwork, sacrifice, and emotional bonds to name a few. A group is defined as being similar to a community but has less in terms of the importance of different topics. A community contains people who want to be together for a mutual benefit rather than a group placed together to complete something assigned. A community contains people who have close personal relationships including trust, whereas a group may not. In short, a community is a tighter group of people than just a group.
            
             A city can be defined as one large community, containing many small neighborhoods as communities within it. Franzen said it best in his essay when he said, "Yet whenever I'm in one of those inexpensive places I feel compelled to reinflict New York on myself-this despite my fear of neighbors with televisions and pianos, my aversion to Gothamite provinciality, and my immunity to the city's "cultural vitality"".
            
             A city is a place where people love to be: working, living and experiencing life as one of a whole community.
            
             A city as a whole can be classified as one giant community. The people living within it have one common goal, happiness, although their means of reaching this goal may vary.
