European Catastrophe
On July 17, 2000 my friend Adam Ashore and I left for a once in a lifetime trip across the Pacific Ocean to the continent of Europe. It was a fourteen-day EF tour of four major countries in Europe: England, France, Switzerland, and Italy. The sites and attractions where amazing. The trip was going absolutely wonderfully until the final day in Paris, France. Since it was the last day, we where able to roam the city freely at our leisure. Adam and I decided to go shopping and buy some last minute souvenirs to bring back home. We took the crowded subway into town and spent a fortune. It was getting late and we did not want to be late for our departure from Paris, so we decided that is was time to call it a day and begin heading back to the hotel. The itinerary stated that we were to leave Paris that night at seven o'clock to take an overnight train to Switzerland. The entire tour group was waiting in the lobby of our hotel. Right before we left for the train station we were all told to check to make sure that we had our money and passports. I confidently reached into my back pocket of my blue jeans and it was empty. I wa
We were both scared, yet disguised it with an act that we were happy we were on our own for a night. After an hour or so, we ended up at a club where we partied until three AM. We went up to our rooms and sat down. The tour director checked us back in our room, gave us some money, and said good bye. I had to stay alone in Paris, France an extra night until the embassy opened in the morning. ------------------------------------------------------------------------**Bibliography**It was a personal narrative about an event that happend so I wrote it off the top of my head. We took a cab back to the hotel and collapsed the minute we saw our beds. We boarded the train just in time, unloaded our things, and rested. The point was that I was stranded in Paris without my passport. Two guys, wasting a night away, all alone with no parents to tell us no. Many people brought back stories and many memories from their European adventure, but none of them will ever compare to the special time my friend Adam and I had. We were so happy to be eating American food that we ate there for two hours. We were both hungry so we decided to walk up the street to the McDonalds.
