For thousands of years people have spoke of all types of visions. Whether the visions were from religious groups, Indian tribes, or self proclaimed prophets; all types of people have seen things. This was more than likely occurring with the help of different types of hallucinogens. Hallucinogens have been around since the beginning of time. LSD is an interesting drug due to its strange past and the hallucinogenic effects, and it still remains quite popular in society today. In April of 1943 a man by the name of Dr. Albert Hofman discovered Lysergic Acid 25, now known as L.S.D., in a professional laboratory. There are many more downsides to the drug. It can also lead users to a “bad trip”. This occurs when the user has negative effects from the drug. D like drugs, were tested on all people in different walks of life including our military personnel. Being a cheap and easily accessible drug, it becomes appealing to kids. It may not be as dangerous as other drugs for first time users, however it is considered a gateway drug. The truth about this drug, and all the questions that still arise when LSD is the subject should be enough to stop anyone from just trying it. For the most part, kids just want to see what it is like, and since it is not addictive they feel its usage is safe. Visions are just one of the many effects this drug has on subjects that take it. The mass of the population did it for fun with no real intent to harm them.
