Doctor Assisted Suicide

In my opinion I feel that doctor-assisted suicide should not be legalized. The reason I feel this way is due to the belief in God that I have. I feel that God brings you into this world when he is ready and should take you out when he is ready as well. I understand the point that the individual may be suffering due to their illness and maybe a suicide would be the best answer. But overall is it really an assisted suicide or is it a murder? According to http://pages.prodigy.com/DOCTORINFORM/suicide.htm, "It is an oxymoron. If someone 'assists' you with your death, you have not committed suicide. You have been killed. Lawyers may argue about intent, but make no mistake about it - the act itself is the taking of a life by another."
I feel that any doctor that could ever attempt to assist in a suicide does not really truly believe in a higher being. According to http://www.freedomsring.org/suicide.html, "Christians generally have considered the taking of one's own life to be a violation of the sanctity of life and a refusal to submit to the will of God, except for those who act out of psychotic compulsion." Theresa Hicks stated in her response that some individuals may not believe in God, however I have to slightly disagree with that. All individuals may not believe in God himself, but most will believe in another sort of higher being. Everyone knows it is morally wrong though, just want the easy way out.
