Drew Barrymore
1 When six-pound,five-ounce baby Drew was born into the Barrymore family her mother was overjoyed. Drew Barrymore was born on February 22, 1975, at Brotman Memorial Hospital in Culver City, California. Barrymore is the daughter of actor John Drew Barrymore Jr. and Ildiko Jaid. Drew's grandparents, John Barrymore and Dolores Costello and grandparents Maurice Barrymore and Georgiana Drew were all involved in the acting business. Drew's family background wasn't much of a pleasant remembrance to her. All she ever knew about her family was that they had drinking problems and that they were all great actors and actresses. Her mother was the only one in her life that was really in line and didn't have any problems except for trying to keep Drew, as well as herself, safe and away from the problems that Drew's father was capable of creating. Until about age five or six Drew loved her father very much, too young to understand what he was really all about. John Drew Barrymore Jr., Drew's father didn't really want much to do with her. Whenever he came to see Drew or her mother he was either drunk or stoned. He would always bring Drew presents to try and stay on her good side and buy her love.
I know that not all stories are like this one, but they are all similar in one way or another. There was just something inside of Drew that made her natural. Drew's career also had a positive effect on her life in that it gave her a sense of security and a lot of fame. She has been through all of that and would very much be able to help me out on how to cope with my problems of getting started. Naturally she is very outgoing and open to anything. When she was at the set she accepted those she worked with as the father, sister or brother that she didn't have. I believe that her acting career is what provoked her to use alcohol and drugs. ays volunteered to watch her while her mother was at a scene, but she never trusted him until one day he begged and pleaded to let him watch Drew. Drew's mother was always trying to find the best schools for Drew. Besides trying to be accepted by others, another factor that prevented her to do good in school was that she was never in school, but rather always traveling as an actress with her mother. When the movie was completed and it was time to go home, she felt like she was being abandoned once again and this happened over and over. That was the last Drew saw her father. It's something I've been inexplicably drawn to by enthusiasm and ambition. Making a movie takes a while, months sometimes even years.
